Ex-Offender (re-entry) Support Groups

The transition from prison back to the community is filled with challenges for many ex-offenders. We provide assistance in getting back into your community and living. We conduct an Ex-Offenders support group meetings every Saturday at the end of each month for those seeking to build a network of support, positive alliances, and helpful resources needed to get on track with daily living. We are here to help!

We service the West Central Georgia area and can travel to your community to facilitate a support group!  Please contact us for further information.

FACTS

  • When prisoners in the United States are released, they face an environment that is challenging and actively deters them from becoming productive members of society. Within three years of release, 67.8 percent of ex-offenders are rearrested, and within five years, 76.6 percent are rearrested (Simmons University, 2016).
  • The recidivism rate in Georgia has remained unchanged at nearly 30 percent over the past decade. That means nearly one in three people released from prison return there within three years (Georgia General Assembly, 2011).
  • Two out of every three offenders released from prison are rearrested within three years (Bureau of Justice Statistics, 2002).
